Have you ever turned on your irrigation system in the spring and noticed odd leaks, water spraying in the air from a head or that a zone is not turning off? You’ve undoubtedly assumed that the winter was exceptionally hard on your system. In some cases that assumption may be valid, however more times than not there may be another culprit in play. When preformed incorrectly a Winterization blowout can cause undue wear and detrimental damage to your irrigation system. We have spent thousands of dollars on a custom built and calibrated air supply system to properly remove the water from your costly irrigation system without damaging the fragile pressure sensitive parts. Not only that, we have this air supply available year round. You’ll notice in the fall that almost every irrigation vehicle you see is towing behind it an air compressor. Most of the time you’ll also notice that it’s from any number of rental companies in the area. The issue that comes up time and time again is that those compressors are typically used for high psi applications and are typically not adjusted correctly. Water and air have much different viscosities and even air added to the system that is within the operating psi of the polyethylene hose reacts to the components very differently.
